"What's in a Mask?"

"What's in a mask?",
The child did ask,
As into that curious shop he wandered.

"Why don't you tell me?",
Replied the owner to he,
As the question they thoughtfully pondered.

The child looked at the walls,
And upon all the different stalls,
Examining each mask up close.

The boy shook his head,
"Their eyes all seem dead,
As if they were comatose."

"But yet they have spirits too,
Not unlike me and you,"
The owner pointed out to the kid.

"You see these spirits are alone,
And each one needs a home,
So a favor from you I do bid.

"I charge you this test,
Give each a place to rest,
I beg you, do it if you can.

"What do you say boy?
Will it be you I employ?
Will you become a Happy Mask Salesman?"

The boy stared to one side,
Trying to decide,
If he should help this curious fellow.

Then he spotted upon a box,
A mask shaped like a fox,
Painted a bright coat of yellow.

The owner followed his eyes,
And to the child's surprise,
He brought him the colorful mask.

"You like this one?" he prodded,
The child quickly nodded.
"Then with this you shall start your task".

The child reached across the stand,
Shook the owner's hand,
And his first mask he did receive.

As he walked out the door,
He heard the owner call from the store,
"Believe in your strengths, believe."
